What Premium unlocks
315+ Japanese voices, no time limit
All on-device voices, including the character voices, are free (up to 20 min a day on the free plan; unlimited with Premium) — different ages, genders, vocal personalities. Pick the voice you like for each book (giving each character its own voice is an experimental feature).
iCloud sync
Library, bookmarks, reading and playback position, pronunciation dictionary, and the text and files of imported books (except files over 200 MB and comics saved from web pages, which stay on the device) sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac signed in with the same Apple ID (off by default; turn it on in Settings). Read on the commute, resume on the sofa.
Advanced dictionary + Ruby auto-register
Create, edit, and JSON-export your own pronunciation entries. Ruby auto-register automatically extracts 漢字 + ふりがな pairs from each chapter into a series-specific dictionary — perfect for long-running web novels with custom name kanji.
Year in Review PDF album
Your reading year saved as a printable 2-page PDF — gradient cover with your stats, plus a card stack. Premium gets the PDF, free gets a PNG share image.
Backup restore
Restore from a previously exported .novelvoice backup file. Export is free (GDPR data portability); restore is the Premium path for device migration and library management.

Is Premium a subscription?
Your choice. Premium comes as a ¥480/month or ¥3,600/year subscription, or a one-time ¥9,800 lifetime purchase. See the App Store for current pricing.
If pricing or plans change in the future, what happens to my existing lifetime purchase?
Grandfather guarantee: if you bought lifetime Premium before any future pricing change, you keep the features that were included in Premium at the time of your purchase, forever. Note: features added after the change (including new voice models such as cloud voices) may require separate payment. See Terms §10.1 for details.
If I buy on iPhone, does iPad / Mac work too?
Yes. The same Apple ID unlocks iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Family Sharing?
Yes — family members in your Apple Family Sharing group can use Premium without additional purchase.
Is the free tier usable on its own?
Yes. All on-device voices are free, along with EPUB / Aozora / web import, the vertical reader, bookmarks, sleep timer, Live Activity, Dynamic Island, and backup export (up to 20 minutes of listening a day: 15 + 5 with the daily check-in). Premium is for unlimited listening, multi-device sync, and the advanced dictionary.
How much storage do the voices need?
All 315+ Japanese voices are built into the app, so there is nothing to download for each voice, and every voice works in airplane mode. What uses storage is the cache of spoken audio and the books you import.
Refunds?
Standard App Store refund policy applies. Submit directly at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Why both a lifetime option and subscriptions?
Reading styles differ. Try Premium with the monthly or yearly plan, or commit with the one-time ¥9,800 lifetime purchase. Both unlock the same Premium features.
