Many people already keep their books and saved articles somewhere else. Yomite connects to those places directly. Add them from Import on the Library screen.
Your own library (OPDS)
Add an OPDS catalog address under My Library Servers to browse the books on a Calibre-Web, Kavita, Komga or other OPDS server, download one and open it. EPUB and PDF open in the book reader, CBZ in the comic reader, and all of them can be read aloud. Passwords are kept in the device Keychain.
With Komga, Yomite can pick up the EPUB reading position recorded on the Komga server. Sending your position back to Komga is not supported yet.
RSS / Atom feeds
Paste a blog or site address under Feed and Yomite finds the feed and subscribes. The feed becomes one entry in your library, with each post as a chapter. If a web novel you follow publishes a feed, new episodes are added as chapters whenever you check for updates.
Read-later (Wallabag, Readwise Reader, Instapaper)
Connect an account under Read-later and your unread articles arrive in your library, one entry per article. Yomite checks for new ones while the app is open, so you can queue them up for the commute.
Where your data goes
- Books and articles are fetched straight from your server or service to your device. They do not pass through a Yomite server.
- Fetching needs a network connection. Reading aloud happens on your device (AI voices).
- These sources work in the free plan. Listening is free for up to 20 minutes a day.
