Yomite opens manga and comics as well as novels and articles. Turn the pages yourself, or let a voice read the speech bubbles to you.
A reader built for comics
Import a CBZ or CBT file and it opens in the comic reader. Choose the reading direction (right-to-left for manga, left-to-right, or vertical) and switch between page turns and a continuous vertical scroll for webtoons. Wide two-page scans are split into single pages automatically; you can turn that off. Settings are kept per book, and the reader reopens on the page you left.
Speech bubbles, read aloud
Press play and Yomite reads the text on the page with on-device text recognition (Apple Live Text), then reads it aloud in order. Vertical Japanese bubbles are supported. Results are saved on your device, so reopening a book starts playback right away. Pick any voice you use for novels (AI voices).
In-place translation (Premium)
Show a translation on top of each bubble. Tap a bubble to see the original and the translation side by side, and hear the translation read aloud. Translation uses Apple's on-device translation (iOS 18 or later).
Open a web page as a comic
When the Web Reader shows an image-based page (manga or webtoon), a card offers to open it as a comic. Reading it in the comic reader is free. Saving it to your library (this device only) is Premium, and Yomite asks you to confirm you have the right to save the page first.
What is free
- The comic reader and bubble read-aloud are in the free plan (listening is free for up to 20 minutes a day).
- In-place translation and saving comics made from web pages need Premium.
To open comics stored on your own server (Komga, Kavita and others), see Your library and read-later.
